Montecito acquires specialty medical building in Atlanta area

Montecito Medical, one of the nation’s most active investors in medical office real estate, has acquired a specialty medical office building in the Atlanta Metro Area.

The 24,500 SF building in Suwanee, a northeast suburb of Atlanta, is tenanted by Thomas Eye, a dominant eye care provider in the area. In 2024, Montecito acquired six other properties occupied by the group in the suburban and exurban communities of Roswell, Sandy Springs, Tyrone, Newnan, Woodstock, and Lilburn, GA.

“We are pleased for the opportunity to build on our relationship with this market-leading provider group as we continue to pursue opportunities in growth markets near major metropolitan areas,” said Rus Gudnyy, Senior Vice President of Investments at Montecito Medical.

Thomas Eye Group is a full-service eye care provider that has served the Atlanta area for nearly 50 years. With more than 40 ophthalmologists and optometrists, the group serves patients through 19 different locations.

Montecito currently owns nearly 40 medical office buildings in the Atlanta area.

“As we actively expand our regional footprint, we are excited about the number of medical real estate investment opportunities we are seeing in the Metro area,” said Chip Conk, CEO of Montecito Medical.
