Montecito Medical, a premier owner of medical office properties throughout the U.S., has completed the acquisition of the St. Joseph Outpatient Surgery Center building in St. Joseph, Missouri. The property, which offers nearly 15,000 square feet of space, is 100% leased to St. Joseph Outpatient Surgery Center. “This is an outstanding asset that plays a key role in the delivery of healthcare in the area,” said Rus Gudnyy, Senior Vice President of Investments at Montecito Medical. “We are pleased for the opportunity to enter into a long-term relationship with the physicians who practice at this surgery center.” St. Joseph Outpatient Surgery Center is the area’s dominant ASC (ambulatory surgery center), with 19 surgeons, four physician assistants and 12 anesthesia providers practicing at the facility. The surgeons perform procedures in a variety of specialties, including orthopedics, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ENT and podiatry. The center includes four operating rooms, two procedure rooms and recovery rooms. The facility serves patients from a large range of zip codes in the area surrounding St. Joseph, a growing exurb approximately 30 miles north of Kansas City. The surgery center is advantageously situated with convenient access to Interstate 29 and less than five minutes from a major hospital campus. “Montecito was great to work with,” said Brett Miller, M.D. “They have a professional team and made the process seamless. We are considering additional future projects with them as a result of this positive experience.” The St. Joseph acquisition expands Montecito’s footprint in the Kansas City area.
