Montecito Medical, one of the nation’s leading acquirers of medical office real estate, has completed the acquisition of a healthcare property in South Carolina that is fully leased to Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health.
MUSC Health, the state’s largest and only comprehensive academic health system, operates 16 hospitals and nearly 750 care locations statewide. The newly acquired facility is strategically positioned within a high-growth corridor and plays an essential role in MUSC Health’s delivery of community-based care.
“This acquisition aligns with our strategy to acquire well positioned healthcare properties that are backed by high-quality tenancy and long-term leases,” said Rus Gudnyy, Senior Vice President of Investments at Montecito Medical. “MUSC Health’s market leadership and credit profile make this an excellent addition to our Southeast platform.”
“This transaction reflects Montecito Medical’s strong relationships with leading healthcare developers and health systems,” added Chip Conk, CEO of Montecito Medical. “It strengthens our presence in the Southeast, where we continue to build a portfolio of properties that deliver durable income and support the growth of our provider partners.”
The acquisition is part of Montecito’s broader Southeast expansion strategy. Over the past several years, the company has completed numerous transactions across the region with major health systems and development partners, building a portfolio of high-quality medical office assets that support long term healthcare delivery.
